Job description

We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses.

The accountant is responsible for ensuring that all financial assets of Prime are kept, processed and dispensed in a safe and efficient manner. This position manages key financial accounts of the company and ensures that all books, logs and files of all transactions are accurately and efficiently recorded and kept.

Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, calculating tax payments and returns. To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for day-to-day accounting and financial management functions.

• Manage all accounting transactions, such as initiating and follow up of bills.

• Prepare bill vouchers and financial statements in time.

• Record all financial transactions and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing reports.

• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

• Ensure that staff advances are liquidated in a timely manner, and maintain updated staff advance schedules.

• Processing payroll for all employees using automated software programs or manual methods.

• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

• Compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial data.

• Managing financial and accounting software used by the Company.

• Monitoring cash flow and identifying any potential problems in advance so that corrective action can be taken before an issue arises.

Skills and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field.

• Partially Qualified Certification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is an asset.

• Must possess 2-3 years of accounting experience in a well-established company/organization preferably with a Building Materials Company.

• Experience with accounting software and data entry.

• Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS.

• Advanced knowledge and experience of spreadsheets.

• Accounting skills, analytical skills, communication skills, data analyzing skills and problem-solving skills.
